The Current State of Fishing

Right now, fishing in Tyria is just a solitary minigame. There is no thrill of competition, no way to track your true records, and no way to prove you are the best angler in your guild and or the game.

Wow. You caught a fish. How cool.

You pull up a Legendary catch, and... nothing happens. It is anti-climactic. Fishing deserves to be a massive, interactive, and competitive experience.

Total Fishing Overhaul

Gilled Wars introduces a two-pillar system to Tyria, starting with Casual Fishing. This mode turns every cast into a data point, tracking your progress across every map in the game.

Live HUD Widgets

Enhance your screen with smart, sticky overlays designed for the ultimate angler. They remember exactly where you drag them!

• 🌤️ Time of Day Sync: A beautiful, highly customizable widget that tracks Tyrian time. Watch the icon seamlessly fade and transition between Dawn, Day, Dusk, and Night.
• 🎯 "Currently Biting" Tracker: Syncs to your current map and Time of Day. It cross-references your API to show only the missing achievement fish you can catch right now!
• 💰 Live Profit & GpH Tracker: Automatically fetches live Trading Post prices for Ambergris and Fillets, estimating your session's profit and Gold per Hour in real-time with every catch.
• ⚙️ Zero Friction (Auto-Start): Enable auto-start in your settings, and your widgets and logging session will automatically boot up the second your character loads into Tyria.

How it Works

Once you put your DRF token in the settings, the module automatically connects and tracks your fish in real-time! No checkboxes needed.

Clicking the Bobber Icon opens your Fish Cooler, an active inventory that displays your last 20 catches with precision weight and length data (5 catches in compact mode). (Note: In compact mode, clicking "Max Size" expands it to full size again, allowing access to all the options.)

Instant Feedback & Personal Bests

Every catch is announced on-screen with its unique stats. If you see Blue Text in your cooler or a "New PB" alert on your HUD, you've just broken your personal record for that species. The module handles all the math while you focus on the reel.

The Master Fish Log

The Fish Log is your permanent encyclopedia. It automatically tracks and categorizes every fish by region, rarity, and bait type. Your best weight and length for every species are auto-updated in real-time, creating a complete archive of your angling career.

Zone Analyzer & Meta Tracker

Never guess where to fish next. The Zone Analyzer scans your current map and highlights exactly which fish you are missing, complete with color-coded rarity borders, bait, and hole tooltips.

• 📊 Compact Mode: Click the [-] button in the header to shrink the Analyzer into a sleek, mini grid. It perfectly separates your missing fish from the ones you've already caught for quick visual reference without cluttering your screen.
• 🏆 Meta Progress: Tracking "Cod Swimming Amongst Mere Minnows"? Pop open the Meta Tracker to monitor your overarching collection status across all of Tyria at a glance.

✨ The Rarity of the Super PB

A Super PB is the ultimate trophy. These rare catches exceed the natural mathematical limits of their species. When you see that Golden Glow in your log, you've landed a catch that few in Tyria will ever see.

Hosting: Setting the Rules

Clicking Tournament Mode reveals the Host and Participant tabs. As the Host, you control the parameters of the competition:

• ⏱️ Start Delay & Mins: Set how long players have to join the waiting room, and how long the actual tournament lasts.
• 🐟 Target Species: Leave it as "All Species," or lock the tournament to a specific fish type per region.
• ⚖️ Win Factor: Decide if victory is based on Weight or Length.
• 📡 Tracking Mode: DRF (Real-Time) is the default. It tracks instantly and is required for Global Leaderboard logging. API Mode is slower due to ArenaNet's cache and will not submit to the leaderboards.

Generating the Room

When you click Create Room, the module generates a unique 5-character code (e.g., GW-WYWG) and automatically copies it to your clipboard.

Distribute this code to your friends or guildmates immediately! Your Start Delay timer is now ticking. When players enter the code, they will be placed in the Waiting Room.

Participating & The Cooler

To join, click the Participant tab (even the Host must do this if they want to fish!), paste the generated code, and hit enter. The UI will collapse into your Tournament Cooler.

The cooler actively tracks your Top 5 catches based on the win condition. Important: If the Host set a specific Target Species, only that species will register in your cooler!

The Finale

When the timer hits 0:00, fishing stops. The module automatically compiles your best valid catches and locks the results. If the Host set up a Discord Webhook, the module works its background magic and instantly fires everyone's results straight into your server.

🛡️ Cryptographic Verification

Look closely at the Discord result—notice that long Verification Code at the bottom? That is Gilled Wars' built-in anti-cheat.

If a player claims they caught a monster fish, the Host can copy that exact code, paste it into the Manual Verify field in their module, click the button and immediately authenticate the catch data natively in-game. No screenshots to fake, no numbers to forge.
